The district is also home to several renowned schools, such as the British International School of Phnom Penh, Southbridge International School Cambodia, CIA FIRST International School, Sovannaphumi School, Paññāsāstra International School, and BELTEI International School. Additionally, the district has notable banks like ABA Bank, Canadia Bank, PPC Bank, Shinhan Bank, KB Daehan Specialized Bank, and J Trust. There are also several religious institutions, such as Veal Sbov Pagoda, Chrouy Ampil Pagoda, Wat Machem Wond, Champa Pagoda, Wat Mony Sarkor, and St. Francis Savior Church.

Chbar Ampov was not always a thriving district. Prior to 2010, it was primarily known for agriculture, farming, and the Kean Svay resort, with few people, businesses, or paved roads. However, with all the new developments in the past decade, Chbar Ampov has turned into one of the top destinations in Phnom Penh to live, work, conduct business, and invest.
