PRIVACY POLICY

Pointer’s policy is to only collect personal information which is reasonably necessary for its dealings with the relevant individual. Pointer only uses personal information for the purpose specified or which is reasonably apparent at the time the information was collected.

Pointer takes reasonable steps to protect personal information that it holds from unauthorized access, modification, misuse, interference and loss. Pointer may sometimes disclose personal information overseas to allow external parties to perform their services for Pointer but Pointer will only do so in accordance with the privacy policy.

The purpose of this Policy is to describe how Pointer complies with the privacy requirements in protecting the personal information Pointer holds about individuals. This Policy is applicable to Pointer and its controlled entities.

The type of personal information that Pointer collects will depend upon what dealings the relevant individual may have with Pointer.

 Pointer may collect and hold personal information about individuals who:

  • Purchase, or express an interest to purchase a property from Pointer (for example when entering into a sale and purchase agreement, or when responding to requests for information about a home or condominium associated with Pointer;
  • Lease, or express interest to lease, premises or spaces, including any related guarantors (for example, when negotiating, entering into or applying to enter into a lease with Pointer);
  • Seek employment with Pointer or are Pointer employees (for example when conducting background checks for the purposes of employment);
  • Enter an Pointer managed building or site (for example when maintaining visitor registrations for an Pointer managed building, capturing video or images through surveillance systems in an Pointer managed car park, facilities floor);
  • Register or subscribe to join Pointer programs, newsletters or competitions;
  • Use Pointer’s corporate or project websites, social media and other online services;
  • Use mobile applications developed by Pointer or log on to wireless facilities provided in an Pointer managed building, sales gallery or office spaces:
  • May otherwise come into contact with Pointer; or
  • Are provided loans or other financial accommodation by Pointer.

What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our website, sales gallery and managed buildings?

  • When registering on our website, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, phone number or other details to help you with your experience;
  • Date of birth, photographic or video images;
  • Information about the individual’s financial position and credit-worthiness;
  • Is required by or authorized by law;
  • The individual’s tax file number;
  • The individual’s opinion about Pointer’s products, services or staff.

How do we use and protect your information?

If Pointer wishes to use or disclose the personal information in other circumstances, it needs to obtain the individual’s consent to do so.

In general, Pointer uses personal information for the following purposes:

  • Providing products or services that have been requested;
  • Communicating with the individual;
  • Assessing the suitability of prospective tenants;
  • Helping Pointer manage and enhance its products and services, including analyzing customer feedback and future customer needs;
  • Providing ongoing information and marketing about products and services to individuals that Pointer believes may be interested and where the individual has signed up;
  • Managing security and safety requirements in Pointer managed buildings and sites;
  • Complying with regulatory and legal obligations;
  • Recruiting employees and contractors;
  • Fulfilling its obligations to employees.

2. Marketing

Pointer may send marketing materials to its customers or potential customers where Pointer has collected the personal information from the individual. The individual’s prior consent will be obtained before personal information is used for marketing purposes. If the customer no longer wishes Pointer to use his or her personal information in order for Pointer to provide marketing materials, the customer is to advise Pointer via the relevant method provided for in the electronic marketing message sent to the customer or to write to Pointer. Pointer will act and amend its records promptly.

Do we use ‘cookies’ on our website?

Pointer along with third-party vendors such as Google use cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and / or other third-party identifiers to compile data regarding user interactions with ad impressions and other ad service functions as they relate to our website.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Since each browser is a little different, look at your browser’s Help Menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies.

3. Third-party disclosure

Pointer does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personal information unless we provide users with advance notice. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or serving our users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. Pointer may also release information when it’s release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property or safety.

4. Applying for employment with Pointer

Pointer collect personal information from individuals who submit applications or register interest for employment with Pointer. If the application is unsuccessful, Pointer may retain the information in case a more appropriate opportunity becomes available.

5. Opting out

To be in accordance with Privacy Policy, we agree to the following:

  • Not use false or misleading subjects or email addresses
  • Identify the message as an advertisement in some reasonable way
  • Include the physical address of our business or site headquarter
  • Monitor third-party email marketing services for compliance, if one is used
  • Honor opt-out/unsubscribe requests quickly
  • Allow users to unsubscribe by using the link at the bottom of each email

If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, follow the instructions at the bottom of each email and we will promptly remove you from ALL correspondence.

6. Changes in the future

Pointer reserves the right to change this Policy at any time. Pointer will notify any changes to this Policy by posting an update version on the Pointer website at pointerasia.com
